Ingredients
100 g Yoghurt
a small piece fresh Ginger
a small piece fresh Turmeric
1 tip of a knife Black Salt
1/2 tsp Olive Oil
5 Curry Leaves
1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
Salt according to taste
How to prepare Haldi Adrak Raita
Start by peeling the turmeric and the ginger. While they look quite similar before, once they are peeled you can clearly distinguish them by the bright orange colour of the turmeric. Cut them in small pieces, so that you have about one-and-a-half teaspoons of ginger and two teaspoons of turmeric pieces. You can use a different amount, according to your taste, but that is how we like this raita best.
Now you can blend the yoghurt with a hand blender until it is liquid and slightly foamy. Add turmeric and ginger pieces and a bit of salt. Stir it all well.
Heat up the oil in a small pan. When it is hot, add the cumin and the curry leaves. Stir while they develop their aroma and then finally switch off your stove. Take the pan and right away give the hot oil into the yoghurt, creating that deliciously sizzling sound.
Now just stir and then place your Haldi Adrak Raita into the fridge to let it cool down!
Enjoy!
