Angoor Raita - Grapes in Yoghurt Sauce
Bored of eating yoghurt plain with your food? Try this delicious Angoor Raita recipe to prepare a yoghurt sauce to your meal!
How to make Angoor Raita
Start by washing your grapes. Some people prefer taking only red grapes, others use only green ones and another possibility is to mix them. Whichever colour they have, pick them off their stems and wash them. After that you need to cut every grape into two pieces. They should anyway not have seeds but if they do, just take out the seeds while cutting.
Some people like their raita a bit more thick, others more liquid. It thus depends on your taste and what kind of yoghurt you use, whether you need to mix water into your yoghurt and if so, how much. The next step will be to blend your yoghurt to take out any solid parts. You can then check whether you need it to be more liquid. Ideally, it should flow off a spoon but it should still be of thick consistency. You can add water and blend it again if you need to.
Put your cumin into a pan and heat it up. Roast the cumin while stirring until it has changed its colour to a darker brown and has filled your kitchen with a nice cumin aroma. Take the pan off the heat and grind the cumin in a mortar.
Now you can add cumin, black salt and salt according to taste into the yoghurt. In the end you mix your grapes into it. You can put it into the fridge until you serve it – a tasty sweet and salty addition to a great meal!
