Aloo Gawar ki Phalli - Potatoes with Cluster Beans
An easy but delicious dish of potatoes and beans in Indian style!
How to make Aloo Gawar ki Phalli
Wash the cluster beans and the potatoes thoroughly. Peel the potatoes and cut them in small pieces. A short piece of the cluster beans has to be cut off from each side before you cut them, too, in small pieces.
Heat up the oil in a non-stick pan or wok. When it is hot, add cumin, fenugreek, mustard seeds, garam masala, coriander powder and turmeric into the oil and stir so that the spices don’t burn. Once they have changed their colour and have spread their smell in your kitchen, you can add the vegetables. Stir them and mix the spices well into the vegetables. Sprinkle salt on top and stir once more.
Now you just need to place the lid onto the pan or wok and let it get cooked. Stir approximately every five minutes. After about twenty minutes, you can check whether beans and potatoes are both soft. Once this is the case, you can take them off the stove. If you like your food slightly sour, you can add mango powder and mix it into the vegetables – it will give a light sour note.
Serve and enjoy!
