Learn how to prepare one of the most loved Indian dishes! A combination of spinach and tasty cubes of fresh cheese!
How to make Palak Paneer
If you cannot buy paneer anywhere close to you, you can very easily prepare it yourself at home, too, according to this recipe. You need to wrap the soft paneer in a fine cotton towel and place it under a heavy stone or a pot filled with water so that the water gets pressed out of the paneer and it is pressed into its hard form. This can take up to one hour. Once it is hard, cut the paneer into cubes.
Heat up one teaspoon olive oil in a pan and fry the paneer cubes. You need to turn them from time to time so that they get slightly golden from all sides. After about five minutes you can take the pan off the stove.
Wash the spinach and put the wet spinach into a pot. Place a lid on top and put the pot on your stove on medium heat. For five minutes you just let the spinach get cooked. Once it is done, you can take it out, put it in a blender and blend it into a nice paste.
Heat up another teaspoon olive oil in a pan. Add cumin, garam masala and coriander and stir. Let the spices get roasted and when they have slightly changed their colour, add the spinach paste. Stir so that it doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pot. When the spinach is boiling, add the paneer, some salt and warm it up altogether.
Once it is all warm, you are done! You can sprinkle some coriander leaves on top for decoration, serve it and enjoy!
