Kheera Raita - Yoghurt-Cucumber-Sauce
One of the most popular side dishes of the Indian kitchen! A dip-like yoghurt dish that is easy to prepare with an exciting taste of roasted cumin!
How to make Kheera Raita
Start by washing the cucumbers and then peeling them. Cut off the ends and grate them into small stripes.
Mix the yoghurt with the water and blend it with a hand blender for a minute so that the yoghurt is liquid and it foams a little bit.
Mix the cucumber with the yoghurt and the water, add black salt and salt according to taste.
Take a pan and roast the cumin seeds without any fat. They will start smelling wonderfully in your kitchen and when they are dark brown, you can place them into a mortar and grind them to powder.
Mix the cumin powder into the raita, add salt and you are done already! A delicious Kheera Raita! It can be eaten as a side dish with a full meal or together with some bread. And of course it is most delicious when it is nicely cooled!
